ERA-Interim is the latest in a series of ECMWF reanalyses, which have become an invaluable source of information for applications ranging from studies on weather events and their predictability to climate variability and change. The quality of ERA-Interim products is better than that of past reanalyses due to many improvements in the forecasting system used. The Data Server will be periodically updated with additional fields as the reanalysis progresses. The ERA-Interim products will continue to be updated in near-real time, opening new opportunities for climate monitoring.
