Stephen English is Head of the Earth System Assimilation Section at ECMWF. He has many years experience in Numerical Weather Prediction and has worked at the Met Office, CPTEC and ECMWF.
Stephen's main interests are in observation aspects of data assimilation. This includes radiative transfer modelling, observation handling, planning for and optimisation of the WMO Integrated Global Observing System, quality control.
